Nutrition is an essential element of life, making nutrition an essential conversation between veterinary staff and clients throughout the lifetime of a pet. Yet, proposing nutrition changes, especially for a healthy pet, carries inherent challenges. This session will address the necessity of making nutrition a lifetime conversation and will present communication strategies for recommending preventative nutrition changes in the healthy pet.

The dyspneic cat is a common clinical presentation in small animal medicine with many potential underlying causes. This session will focus on a smart and strategic diagnostic approach to maximize the chances of success. During this 4 hour lecture and interactive, hands-on demo, we will be reviewing equine emergencies, which will include anatomy, stabilization, wound assessment and management, regional limb perfusions and supportive care. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their handling skills, identify landmarks, and practice their splinting and bandaging skills on live models. The session will be instructed by Dr. Kasara Toth at Energy Equine’s state of the art equine veterinary facility. This workshop is presented by the ABVTA.
