During this
webcast, learn from veterinary dermatologist, Dr. Charlie Pye, as she discusses:
• barrier dysfunction in allergic patients;
• some of the barriers to implementing topical therapy;
• the benefits of topical therapy for dermatology patients.

Event Date(s): July 23 2024
Visiting a veterinary practice can be nerve-wracking for any pet! By using common medications to reduce patient anxiety, we can help prevent the "up and down" experiences of pets visiting our practices and provide smooth transitions from admission to discharge.
In this session, Alayne Madill will be discussing a more structured plan for using common medications to help reduce canine and feline anxiety, enhance comfort and provide anesthesia and analgesia. This session will also provide tips and options for sedation and anesthesic drugs, which include trazodone, gabapentin, maropitant, NSAIDs, opioids, sedatives, and induction agents such as propofol, alfaxalone, and isoflurane, to help prevent stressful experiences and enhance comfort through all phases of their stay (pre-anesthetic, general anesthesia and recovery).

Join us on July 23 at 7 p.m. (EDT) to learn how to incorporate Spectrum of Care into your daily veterinary practice For every participant in this live webcast, Royal Canin, NVA Canada, and CommuniVET™ will each donate $1 to Community Veterinary Outreach (CVO). Challenges related to pet-owner costs and other barriers to animal care have always been a part of veterinary practice. However, these day-to-day difficulties appear to be increasing, with growing attention to the ‘access to care’ veterinary crisis impacting our patients, clients, and veterinary care teams. One proposed solution to this problem is the deliberate incorporation of Spectrum of Care into practice (i.e., evidence-based care options along the continuum of acceptable care). During this webcast, Drs. Jason Stull and Michelle Evason will use real case examples and highlight how to identify care options while effectively communicating these options to pet owners.
