MHFA Canada is an evidence based program of the Mental Health Commission of Canada. This two day training course is designed, much like the traditional physical first aid, to teach participants how to provide assistance to someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis or developing a mental health problem; until they are connected to professional help. Topics include signs and symptoms of common mental health problems and crisis situations, description of mental health problems such as substance abuse, depression, anxiety disorders and psychosis. The course will be held at the ABVMA Office in Edmonton. Registration is now open.
