Agenda: Research in the human healthcare field suggests that successfully functioning teams with effective communication can provide better patient care and experience enhanced job satisfaction. Conversely, malfunctioning teams more often exhibit miscommunication and have increased staff turnover and compromised patient care. This practical and informative workshop will provide a series of sessions presented by a veterinarian and technician duo who will share strategies for effective communication, conflict resolution, and workplace wellbeing that will help all members of the veterinary team to thrive. An overview of personality types, stress triggers, change management styles, and appreciation styles will be provided in the context of veterinary practice. Additionally, toxic work environments will be deconstructed with an emphasis on ways to foster wellness within the veterinary workplace. Attendees will come away with a multitude of practical tools to use to support wellbeing within the veterinary team.
